Garage Doors
Any change or replacement of a garage door requires DRC approval and must meet the following guidelines:
- Doors must be constructed from steel, aluminum, fiberglass, or similar materials that can withstand harsh weather.
- Typically, garages must be painted to match the siding or trim or of the house. Garages can only be painted to match accent colors if those colors are muted and do not stand out significantly compared to the siding color and other approved siding colors in the neighborhood. A complete request to replace a garage door must include (1) the planned paint color, and (2) the paint colors of the siding, trim, and accents of the house.
- Decorative trim, hinges, vertical handles, extra handles, carriage hardware, and/or any other decorative hardware are not allowed.
- The design must be a raised panel style. Each “single car” width of the door must include only two or four raised panels as depicted below:
5. Window inserts may be included but are not required. If window inserts are included, the following restrictions apply.
a. Windows are only allowed on the top-most horizontal section.
b. The glass must be clear. Frosted, etched, or colored glass is not allowed.

d. Rounded corner inserts may be included on the rectangular options above, provided that the curved section of the window insert begins above the half-way point on the vertical side of the window and extends across the entire horizontal top of the window.
